Getting this shot was the first time I’ve been in anything resembling public in a year! I am so thankful, and so tired, and so, so lucky to have been able to be this cautious. Here’s to a (very near) future when this protection makes its

The last few days have felt, for the first time in what feels like forever, like they hold possibility, and promise, and something beyond all this. Never more so than when I get to watch this tiny, miraculous, opinionated person make her way through

I'm so grateful to the folks at @guardian for letting me celebrate the UK release of PLACES I'VE TAKEN MY BODY by highlighting ten of my favorite books about the body! Every list leaves something out, and this one could be a thousand times longer and

Happy fourth birthday, beat up little book! Thank you for the whole shape of my adult life, the whole fact of it. Thank you for reminding me that the stakes of the work are always larger than my own history, desires, and griefs. Thank you for so many

I have a high stakes afternoon tomorrow, that's had my stomach in a knot for days. But talking poetry, community, communion and prayer with @jerichobrown1 and @ohaliciajo tonight was exactly what I needed to remind me that none of it matters as much

Today in “Things I Could Not In a Million Years Have Predicted About My Life”: This is the latest issue of British Vogue, and that middle headline on the giant picture of Angelina Jolie refers, wildly, to MY essay somewhere in these pages

Day one of the teaching semester in the books! I can’t bear to look at the screen anymore, but I thought all day about the fact that this is the last semester I’m actually guaranteed the opportunity to do this. About how incredibly gratef

I haven’t actually held copies yet, but—despite everything— this book is alive in its UK body!!! The most unlikely kind of grace and motion; I’m so, so grateful for all the ways this feels like a promise that there’s mor
